The proceeds from the 2006 golf tournament will go toward the enhancements being done to the new Law Enforcement Memorial site that is being moved to a peninsula located in the center of Tropical Park, just south of the football stadium and north of the soccer fields. We have broken ground and are excited about this project. When the new site is completed, it will rival any Law Enforcement Memorial in the country.

In preparation for this move, we are trying to sell more Service Legacy Bricks, which honor both sworn and non-sworn personnel that have honorably served and retired (or are soon retiring) from any federal, state, or local law enforcement agency in Miami-Dade County and are vested with their department.  Service Legacy Bricks are red bricks with the retiree’s name, department, year retired, and years of service engraved on it. For a donation of $50.00 qualified applicants may purchase a brick for the walkway, and for an additional $25.00 donation a second brick may be purchased for the recipient to keep along with a nice certificate with the same verbiage as on the actual brick.

We have sold approximately 200 bricks to date. We are hoping to have several hundred bricks ready when we move the memorial to make the beginning of a nice walkway honoring all who have served the community. All proceeds from the brick donations will go toward the annual Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony and maintenance of the memorial site. This is a great way for a unit, squad, or family to honor someone that is deceased, retiring, or retired.
